About Podaran Foods’ 2 Megawatt Rooftop Solar System
Podaran Foods, a leading beverage company in Andhra Pradesh, switched to solar energy to power its Palamaner and Vizianagaram factories while reducing energy costs. In partnership with Orb Energy, the company commissioned a 1 MWp rooftop solar system in December 2021.
Impressed with the strong performance and valuing Orb’s local presence and accessibility, Podaran Foods expanded further with another 1 MWp system in May 2024 — bringing the total rooftop solar capacity to 2 MWp.
With this installation, the company now saves about ₹1.8 crore annually, achieving a payback period of approximately three years and six months. Building on this success, Podaran Foods plans to work with Orb Energy to extend solar adoption across its retail stores.
