Solar with Battery Storage Keeps Production Running at Hitech Blow Moulders, Bengaluru

In the industrial belt of Anekal, Bengaluru, Karnataka, Hitech Blow Moulders had already invested in rooftop solar with Orb Energy under net metering scheme. But frequent power cuts — a routine hazard in the area were undermining that investment. Every outage interrupted the existing solar generation, and each unplanned stoppage on the shop floor meant lost production time and wasted raw material.

So Hitech Blow Moulders partnered with Orb Energy again, this time to add battery storage to their existing solar setup. The goal was a solar with battery storage system that could store surplus solar power during the day and dispatch it instantly whenever the grid went down, ensuring continuous power for production while significantly reducing dependence on diesel generators.

Commissioned in June 2026, the hybrid solar and battery storage solution is projected to save the company approximately ₹37 lakh annually with an estimated payback of 4 years 6 months, while ensuring uninterrupted production during grid outages. The solution reduces electricity costs, minimizes reliance on generators, improves energy resilience, and keeps business operations running without disruption.

For Managing Director Mr.Sandeep Sethiya, choosing Orb Energy for the upgrade came down to a track record he’d already seen firsthand — their earlier rooftop solar installation had been performing reliably for years.
