About Jaguar Petropack’s 1 Megawatt Rooftop Solar System
Jaguar Petropacks, a leading manufacturer and exporter of polyethylene and polypropylene bags for industries such as agriculture, food and beverage, healthcare, and retail, took a significant step towards sustainability in 2018. Orb Energy designed and installed a 1-megawatt rooftop solar system at their manufacturing facility in the Malur Industrial Area, Kolar, Karnataka.
The system generates over 13 million units of solar energy annually, also saving Jaguar Petropacks approximately Rs 1 crore (around $120,000 USD) annually on electricity costs. The investment reached payback in just 3 years and 10 months, ensuring that for the next 20+ years, their electricity from solar is essentially free.
